THE EMPTINESS OF FAME, Lady Gaga opens up
In a sneak peak into Lady Gaga’s personal life, the singer confesses that fame has left her empty.
“Gaga: Five Foot Two” is an upcoming Netflix documentary about the superstar. Gaga released several previews on social media Thursday, including one that reveals a heartbreaking phone conversation between her and her best friend, celebrity stylist Brandon Maxwell.
“I’m alone, Brandon. Every night,” she’s heard saying through tears. “And all these people will leave, right? They will leave and then I’ll be alone. And I go from everyone touching me all day and talking at me all day to total silence
A former school teacher of the singer once warned her that those exact feelings were a risk of fame.
“I said to her, ‘Stefani, you may get the fame and success you are longing for one day, but it will not last and it will not make you happy,'” teacher Chris White told The Christian Post about Gaga, known to him as Stefani Germanotta.
“Whether she remembers what I said to her that day or not, I had seen enough of the trouble and sadness in the lives of students and families who had wealth and fame to know that it is not the path to happiness. As Jesus said in Matthew 16:26, ‘For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?'” he continued.
Many began speculating that the singer was beginning a genuine spiritual journey after her performance of God Bless America at the Super Bowl LI Halftime show.
Gaga has been criticized by many evangelical Christians for being an advocate for the LGBT lifestyle and also posting on social media about going to church.
Her response: “We are not just ‘celebrities,’ we are humans and sinners, children, and our lives are not void of values because we struggle. We are as equally forgiven as our neighbor. God is never a trend, no matter who the believer.”
